The AI tools have gotten better. I use Open Evidence and Doximity regularly. Epic's summarizer helps. But none of them give me what I actually need before a 2am cross-coverage pickup: the longitudinal story of each condition — when the heart failure was diagnosed, what the ejection fraction has been doing, why nephrology flagged that medication two admissions ago.
A summary tells me what a patient has. I need to know how they got there. And right now, no tool gives me that automatically.
